Correction and Retraction Policy

IJRDO – Journal of Applied Science is committed to maintaining the accuracy, transparency, and integrity of the scholarly record. The journal follows the principles and recommendations of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) for handling corrections, expressions of concern, retractions, and other post-publication updates.

Corrections

Minor errors, such as typographical mistakes, author details, affiliations, references, or other information that do not affect the validity or interpretation of the published research, may be corrected through a formal Correction Notice.

Where an error or issue has a significant impact on the validity, reliability, or interpretation of the published work, the journal may issue a Correction, Expression of Concern, or Retraction, depending on the nature and severity of the issue.

Retraction

An article may be considered for retraction in cases including, but not limited to:

  • Unreliable or invalid findings
  • Fabrication or falsification of data
  • Plagiarism
  • Duplicate publication
  • Serious ethical violations
  • Manipulation of the peer-review process
  • Undisclosed conflicts of interest that materially affect the work
  • Other circumstances that seriously compromise the integrity of the published research

Expression of Concern

An Expression of Concern may be published when serious concerns exist regarding the reliability or integrity of an article, but the available evidence is inconclusive or an investigation is still ongoing.

Requests and Assessment

All correction, expression of concern, and retraction requests must be submitted to the editorial office with appropriate justification and supporting information. Each case will be carefully assessed by the editorial team, and where necessary, the journal may seek clarification or additional documentation from the authors, reviewers, institutions, or other relevant parties before reaching a decision.

Retraction Notices and Published Records

When an article is retracted, the journal will publish a clear Retraction Notice explaining the reason for the retraction. The original article will normally remain available as part of the scholarly record but will be clearly marked as RETRACTED. The journal will not silently remove a retracted article, as maintaining a transparent publication history is essential to the integrity of the scholarly record.

Linking and Notification

Correction and retraction notices will be linked to the relevant published article wherever possible. The journal may also notify relevant indexing, abstracting, DOI, and scholarly communication services of significant post-publication changes.

Transparent and Evidence-Based Process

The journal maintains a clear, transparent, and evidence-based process for handling post-publication updates. The purpose of corrections and retractions is to ensure the accuracy and reliability of the scholarly record and is not intended primarily as a form of punishment.

Processing Fee

A processing fee of USD 200 is applicable for each correction, retraction, or republication request.

This fee covers the administrative, editorial, and technical costs associated with reviewing and processing the request and, where applicable, updating the published article, metadata, notices, and related online records.

Payment of the fee does not guarantee approval of a correction, retraction, or republication request. Editorial decisions are made independently based on the evidence, publication-ethics principles, and the integrity of the scholarly record.
